What Does The Gates Sonic Tension Meter Do?
The Gates Sonic Tension Meter measures belt tension by analysing and processing the characteristics of a vibrating belt. It relies on the belt’s natural harmonic trait and turns the frequency into a measurement of tension. With incredibly accurate readings, the Gates Sonic Tension Meter is a guaranteed way of cementing your machines’ performance and readiness!
How Does It Work?
Sonic Tension Meters analyse the natural sound waves of a belt and turn it into a measurement of tension for you to work with. All you need to do is key in the characteristics of the belt that you are measuring, strum it like a guitar string, and then press measure. The aforementioned measurement readings will be displayed on the LED screen for you to refer to and take note of.

The long arm sensor (PN: 7420-0215)
With a length of 350mm, this accessory allows users to reach distances that the Sonic Tension Meter cannot reach by itself.

The inductive cord sensor (PN-7420-026J)
A sensor that can be bent and operated with only a single hand. Perfect for high-noise or windy environments.
